# Shared Forge platform layer

The sources in this directory are compiled by each standalone Forge build.

- `src/main/java` contains Java 17, Minecraft-neutral bridges and metrics logic.
- `src/forge-common/java` contains code that is source-compatible across all supported mappings.
- `src/forge-legacy/java` connects Forge's legacy global event bus (1.20.1 through 1.21.1).
- Forge 1.21.11 owns only its EventBus 7 wiring under its build root.

The platform does not register blocks, items, menus, packets, or login channels. The mod metadata uses
`IGNORE_SERVER_VERSION` so Forge does not advertise a client requirement. An unmodified vanilla-client
handshake is still a per-version release acceptance test; metadata alone is not treated as proof.
