Confirmed option and actual frame consumer
3A819C0 reads persisted Settings virtual1F0(index3); the label is $GALAXY_MAP_CONSTELLATIONS_OPTION_LABEL;. This alone was initially insufficient to identify a renderer. The whole-image immediate-index scan and the signed resource-name scan remain bounded negative searches, but their earlier absence result is superseded by the direct producer/consumer chain below.
The true galaxy frame 3A26260 calls 3A26BF0, which reads active map-settings virtualD0(index3) and calls 3A1CF60 when enabled. Renderer constructor 3A06740 binds this settings handle at base198 through global5FDB224. This is distinct from persisted Settings5F05CE0/virtual1F0, explaining why the previous direct scan found only the UI. The same frame checks active option4 for original grid function 3A1EDE0.
Exact authored resource
Resource d30f11c57448cff8ec3dd0c5c80d9868482ccadb has signed SHA256 ba4e049fd4eae066e72f29898a25d52692422e5905fc7a4a65105e44eb631ade. Its decoded frozen block is 49a18ad1f339169391abe2a76475eea6731028b9809d7120fb32d57309196f22 (82,232,836 bytes). Galaxy root (1765098201,2090718614) is pool2647:4032. Root110 points to pool2561:7680; root118 contains count16.
This vector holds24-byte group records: original name pointer, pair-vector pointer, pair count. Each16-byte pair contains two original catalogue-name pointers. It contains 16 groups and206 edges, in authored order:
| Group | Edges | Group | Edges |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aries | 2 | Sagittarius | 21 |
| Taurus | 14 | Capricorn | 9 |
| Gemini | 16 | Aquarius | 19 |
| Cancer | 3 | Pisces | 15 |
| Leo | 18 | Ursa Major | 19 |
| Virgo | 17 | Ursa Minor | 7 |
| Libra | 6 | Orion | 21 |
| Scorpius | 17 | Southern Cross | 2 |
The exact original spelling is preserved, including Capricorn, Southern Cross, Alnath and Delta Crucis; no external constellation dataset is substituted. 3C430C0 registers definition global5FDB230 at providerbase260, interface5539DA8. Getters 3C41080/3C41070 return frozen root110/root118 pointer/count. This is the same frozen galaxy-root owner used by the recovered GZM.
research/Extract-OriginalGalaxyConstellations.py --verify deterministically checks root IDs, frozen hash, relocation pointers, labels,16 groups and206 edges against XFEEDToolBox.Core/Galaxy/original-constellations.json. The JSON contains authored names and edges, no generated stellar coordinates.
Actual endpoint readiness and world transform
Rendererbase100 binds global5F8570C. Registration 3A5E6B0 exposes componentbase58, interface5526988 (main5526858, secondary5526888). Interface+58 is 3A4CD50, returning componentbase6A0, the prepared group table. Its header has count+10/data+18, with40-byte group rows and32-byte endpoint-pair records.
Initialization 3A5ACE0 (this=componentbase8) resolves both names through the original name catalogue and obtains reference-owned compact handles through the galaxy catalogue. A genuinely invalid/missing handle or handle status0 is not retained. Merely unready handles are retained. Source groups live at base680 (count690/data698).
Callback 39EFB00 adjusts its event pointer by-60 and jumps to 3A28A40 with the actual component base. The first section waits for both compact handles in each retained edge to reach status2; status1 requests original loader 3C359A0. It unpacks raw compact XYZ and multiplies each component by original float5192F68=0.03125, storing both positions directly as float4 XYZ/W0. There is no normalization, sky shell, perspective remap, or extra scale applied to these endpoints. Only once every retained pair is ready is that group moved to base6A0.
These are absolute catalogue light years. The application's catalogue records subtract original Sol origin (49985,40985,24105). Subtracting this same origin from camera and endpoints preserves geometry; Core accepts existing real Sol-relative Coordinates unchanged. Positions are not inferred from names.
GalaxyOriginalConstellations.Resolve conservatively waits for every authored endpoint when it cannot distinguish an unready entry from a permanently invalid one. It reads each distinct name once and returns complete groups plus pending/missing-name diagnostics. Main resolves from its existing strictly filtered stellar snapshot; unavailable or hidden endpoints cannot leave a fabricated or query-bypassing connection. It does not block streaming or issue another query.
Original group opacity
3A1CF60 averages only the first endpoint of every edge, preserving repeated endpoint contributions, then subtracts Sol origin. It normalizes this direction (zero length falls back to original50CB0F0 vector (0,0,1)). Camera direction is normalized focus minus eye; a zero-length view retains directional opacity1.
directional = pow(clamp(dot(viewDirection, groupDirection), 0, 1), 2)
distanceFade = clamp((distance(eye, Sol) - 24) / (8 - 24), 0, 1)
alpha = directional * distanceFade
The distance factor is1 through8ly, .5 at16ly, and0 at/above24ly. Exact PE floats:5110C2C=2,5376FE0=24,50CB47C=8. A group is submitted only when alpha > float(0.1) (4DEE294=0.10000000149011612). Prepared32-byte edges pass unchanged to original submission 3C05B20.
The Core helper ports these rules in double precision; it does not claim bit-identical SIMD results. Four focused tests cover authored ordering, no invented/partial geometry, true XYZ preservation, both opacity factors, first-endpoint weighting, degenerate directions and cutoff. All210 current Galaxy tests passed in artifacts/galaxy-original-constellation-tests/all-results.
Actual world-line style and material
Trace-OriginalGalaxyConstellationMaterial.py verifies the actual renderer interface: constructor3A06740 binds renderer+58 to vtable551F408, whose slots130/138 point to3A75150/3A1CED0. The similarly located551F838 belongs to another object and is not used as evidence.3C05B20 calls the actual slot138;3A1CED0 selects viewport+40 and its64-byte vector, then3A20A10 calls the same3C11750 writer used by the original grid. Both therefore use viewport slot8's sectorline_nodepth/StarMapLine, original quad, BC7 atlas and named fade publisher documented in galaxy-original-grid-material-evidence.md.
Render config295:14000+190 contains12 authored52-byte style records at278:14672. The constructor copies each record's48-byte body to renderer+420+styleIndex*30h. Style6 is exactly renderer+540, the block read by3A1CF60. It supplies white RGBA, world half-width float0.1,2.5 texture repeats per light year and pattern row0 of8. The group consumer replaces only alpha; it does not multiply it by a separate authored opacity. The final record has half4 (10,.1,half(.1),10), RGBA (1,1,1,groupAlpha) and pattern (0,8,2.5,0).
Production uses a separate constellation instance buffer with the shared original world-line pass. The prior GPU1px screen-line duplicate is removed. Empty/disabled/unresolved/strictly filtered groups clear this buffer. The Composition fallback still uses its provisional neutral screen line when a D3D renderer is unavailable.
The independent GalaxyGridShaderProbe renders the actual production constellation records and original VS/PS DXBC under the same explicit controlled inputs. The2ly fixture at40px/ly produces8 raster rows for the original.1ly half-width. Mean maximum-channel8-bit difference is0.0004403, with14 of1,440,000 pixels differing by more than3 levels. The disabled fixture submits zero records and leaves no RGB pixels. Both full-size and enlarged original/production outputs were inspected. These controlled values do not certify the live shared material or final HDR pipeline.
Remaining fidelity boundary
Main uses the recovered ordinary-screen FOV56.249000549°, original narrow-aspect compensation and near.1. Infinite reverse-depth projection is now separate from the finite QueryFar catalogue/draw boundary; the4D query policy remains an explicit application fallback pending the original native LOD contract. Shared RGB/final HDR output, final material scalar binding and sampler quality remain open as in the grid pass. Runtime catalogue readiness and same-state appearance require later validation with a running game. OriginalConstellationWorldStyleRestored=true records the source world style; full original line-material parity remains false.
